The Fine Print

While Adventure Scholars attempts to ensure travelers are provided with everything they need for a safe, enjoyable, and complete experience, some services, fees, or discretionary items are not included in the tour.

Not Included:

  • Airfare to Jackson, MS

  • Airfare from Montgomery, AL

  • Airline luggage fees

  • Any additional snacks, meals, or beverages to those provided by the tour

  • Personal insurance for health, baggage, and trip cancellation

  • Items of a purely personal nature (souvenirs, toiletries, batteries, chargers, etc.)

  • Any items not listed as included

To ensure each participant is safe, well-connected, and prepared, we require each traveler to bring the following:

  • Sufficient seasonally-appropriate clothing (including sleepwear) and personal toiletries for the duration of the trip

  • Appropriate shoes for long days of walking (flip-flops, slippers, heels, etc., are not approved beyond the hotel and bus)

  • A smartphone with a sufficient data plan with both the Adventure Scholar app and the LiveVoice app loaded and connected to the tour group (Instructions will be sent prior to departure)

  • Earbuds/earphones that connect to a smartphone (via Bluetooth)

  • Chargers for any electronics travelers intend to bring

  • Cash, debit, or credit cards to cover any small incidental or discretionary personal expenses (souvenirs, additional snacks or beverages, etc.)

  • Health & dental insurance cards (physical or digital)

  • Government issued picture ID

  • Student ID

  • Any required medications

  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
